5 Mindless Mobile Games to Keep You Occupied During Free Time

Online gaming is fun. Don’t believe me? 3.32 billion worldwide active video game players might change your mind.

As an avid video gamer, I waste most of my time playing video games and screaming my lungs out. I know you might think I am just another Tekken, PUBG, Call of Duty, Dota, or Fortnite player, and I won’t blame you.

All these games are considered famous among online gamers. In fact, games like Counter-Strike 2, Minecraft, Fortnite, and Valorant are considered favorites among online gamers.

However, all these games have a few features in common. These games are highly addictive and require some kind of skillset and a high-end PC or gaming console.

Unfortunately, I do not have any of it. I am just a beginner looking for ways to kill time, soothe my anxiety, and enjoy some free time without worrying about global ranking and making my mark.

If you are also looking for a way to spend some fun time online, without investing in high-end equipment, here are some of the best mindless mobile games that can keep you occupied during your free time.

Before I list down my top picks, it is important to know that while these games don’t require you to shell out cash for a PlayStation 5, they do require a reliable internet connection for a seamless gaming experience. If you’re looking for one, I recommend Hawaiian Telcom Internet, mainly for its fast download speeds and no data caps at affordable rates.

Now without further ado, here are some mindless mobile games you can play in your free time.

Clusterduck

This is a simple, quirky yet unique game where you can breed ducks. So, if you are tired of extremely competitive games, Clusterduck will help enjoy the little joys of life.

For this game, you start with a single egg that you are expected to hatch. However, the process is not as simple as you think. Just like normal birth, there is a chance of genetic mutation. Therefore, when you have more ducks and you try to breed and hatch at a much higher rate, you can expect a lot of gene mutation and some weird-looking ducks as well.

These ducks can be different in color, might be bald, not have arms, or just have weird-shaped heads. While the game is fun, it is not competitive and somewhat mindless that you can play to kill time or just play when you are watching something on Netflix.

The best thing about this game is that you do not have to keep playing it every day or maintain a score, just enjoy it anytime you want.

Two Dots

If you are into puzzles or you want to polish your problem-solving skills, this is a fun start.

This game is as simple as it gets. To ace this game, you just need to connect the colored dots. The idea is to match the two dots on the opposite side. This game does not offer a thrilling experience. Instead, it is an ideal soothing experience that can pacify your anxiety. It is a great game to enjoy before you go to bed.

Even if you have trouble falling asleep, this game will help you get a good night’s sleep and help you calm down. The only issue with this game is that you might get used to the mind-numbing effect and get addicted, so proceed with caution.

Blackbox

Blackbox sounds like either too depressing or just a science fiction movie. However, this game provides a truly unique experience that most puzzle games fail to offer. So, if you are into puzzles, this will change your life forever.

This minimalistic puzzle game comes with its challenges.

The player is expected to solve challenges by looking at the visual clues and offer solutions for each puzzle by touching the screen. The best thing about this game is that you do not have to just rely on clues offered on the screen.

Instead, you will also get to use the microphone, speaker, and other features of your phone. By the end of the game, you are expected to rely heavily on other mobile features and avoid using the touchscreen to solve the puzzles.

Animal Crossing

I know you probably have heard about Animal Crossing a lot. Every influencer at this point has either mentioned this game as their favorite pastime or will tell you that they are playing it right now.

While over-endorsing something can be annoying, it also highlights that Animal Crossing is fun for everyone regardless of age, gender, and personal preferences. Through this game, the player gets to control the characters who can move to a deserted place.

The basic idea is to purchase the getaway package and then complete the task by moving the animals to the island. The game is simple, and fun yet very unique so you can play it while listening to music, watching Netflix, waiting for your bus, or cooking a meal.

Pokémon Go

After its initial launch in 2016, this game made rounds on social media and traditional media because of multiple reasons.

As a global sensation, this game needs no introduction. Pokémon Go is based on the Japanese anime series Pokémon where the player is required to catch different charterers from the series. This is an excellent game for people who want to enjoy some leisure time walking around in the neighborhood. Most people enjoy this game only because it offers them entertainment when they are on the go or enjoying a day out.

The above-mentioned games are some of my favorites but they are slow and mindless. As a player, if you enjoy thrilling games, you can explore other options as well.
