It is true that the Australian population is becoming a lot more health conscious and many of us are taking real steps to improve upon our overall physical and mental health. One of the first things that we need to do is to get ourselves out of the local gymnasiums and our home gyms, to spend a lot more time outside. Not only is it good for your physical health but it encourages you to engage with your family members more so that your social skills improve as a direct result. You could spend more time exercising outdoors, maybe take a walk to the local park or even better, spend some quality time in nature.
Booking accommodation in a guesthouse or hotel in the area that you want to travel to is not bringing you closer to nature and so it might be time to invest in a roof top tent. This is the accommodation that you need to spend time outdoors and it brings you a lot closer to Mother Nature. People are always telling us to get more fresh air and so now, is the perfect chance to do that very thing. There are so many reasons why we need to spend more time outdoors and in nature here in Australia and the following are some of those.
It’s great for mental health
There is absolutely no doubt that spending time in green spaces that you feel better about yourself and is excellent for your overall well-being. There is something about walking on the grass and spending time among trees that puts a smile back on our face and reduces any stress or anxiety that we may be carrying around with us. It doesn’t take long to start enjoying nature and those symptoms of depression will decrease as well.
You become a lot more social
We spend too much time on our computers and other digital devices and it is come to the point that we are lacking in social skills because we don’t spend enough time with people. This is especially true for Australian teenagers and so you as the parent need to put things into place to get your kids outside and to get them talking to you again.
It’s perfect for the immune system
If there is one thing that we learned from the pandemic it is the fact that we all need a lot more natural light and we need more vitamin D. This essential vitamin is needed for a stronger immune system that allows us to fight infections and the next virus that will surely come our way. Spending time outside also allows us to take part in more physical activities and that can only have positive outcomes as well.
As well as all of the green space out there, don’t forget all of the blue spaces are well that nature has to offer. There are so many things that you can do like fishing, canoeing and swimming.
