Rick Ross is worth an estimated $80 million to $150 million in 2026. Published figures range from the $45 million to $50 million we listed last year all the way up to $180 million, but the paper trail points clearly to the higher half of that range. Court documents in 2021 put his income at about $585,000 a month, and he has spent the last few years buying a $35 million mansion, a private jet and a car collection measured in the hundreds.
This is a full breakdown of how the Maybach Music boss built that fortune, and where the money actually sits.

Why the estimates differ so much
| Source | Figure | What it is based on |
|---|---|---|
| Our own 2025 version | $45 million to $50 million | Music income and property, not updated for recent purchases |
| Celebrity Net Worth | $180 million | Career earnings of more than $90 million, property and business interests |
| Our 2026 estimate | $80 million to $150 million | Documented assets and income, allowing for debts and spending |
The jump comes from what he has bought since 2021. You do not usually buy a $35 million Star Island home and a Gulfstream jet on a $45 million net worth. At the same time, the top estimate assumes very little debt and full ownership of everything, which is rarely the case with big property and aircraft purchases. That is why we sit a little below the highest figure.
Where Rick Ross’s money comes from
Music and Maybach Music Group
Ross broke through with “Hustlin'” in 2006 and has released a steady run of albums since. In 2009 he founded Maybach Music Group, which signed artists including Meek Mill, Wale, Gunplay, Stalley and Omarion, and launched the Self Made compilation series in 2011. A label gives him income from other artists’ records as well as his own, which is a big part of why his earnings held up long after his commercial peak. Forbes put his annual earnings at $10 million on its 2016 hip-hop list.
Wingstop
Ross is one of the best-known celebrity franchise owners in fast food. He signed a Wingstop development agreement for Memphis in 2011, and his family companies under the Boss Wings name grew to 21 locations by the end of 2016. The business has since been scaled right back: Boss Wings handed its Memphis restaurants to another operator in 2022, and a 2026 review found just one location still operating, in Clarksdale, at the end of 2025. Selling most of the portfolio would have turned years of franchise income into a lump sum.
Luc Belaire and drinks
Ross has had a long-running promotional partnership with Luc Belaire, the sparkling wine brand from Sovereign Brands, and has promoted the company’s other drinks too. The financial terms have never been made public, but long-term drinks partnerships are some of the most lucrative deals in hip-hop.
The property empire
Real estate is where a big chunk of Ross’s wealth is parked, and his deals are unusually well documented.
| Property | Deal | Date |
|---|---|---|
| The Promise Land, Fayetteville, Georgia | Bought from Evander Holyfield for about $5.8 million; added 87 acres for $1 million in 2020, now about 322 acres | 2014 |
| Star Island, Miami Beach | Bought for $35 million | August 2023 |
| Meek Mill’s former Atlanta-area estate | Bought for $4.2 million | April 2023 |
| Houston home | Bought for $3.5 million | 2023 |
| Southwest Ranches, Florida | Bought for $3.5 million, sold for $6 million | 2021 to 2026 |
| Seven Isles, Fort Lauderdale | Bought for $5.2 million, sold for about $6 million | 2012 to 2016 |
The Promise Land is the famous one: a vast estate south of Atlanta with a mansion reported to have more than 100 rooms, which Ross has used for car shows, music videos and events. Add the Star Island purchase and the other homes, and his property portfolio alone is plausibly worth $50 million or more at today’s prices.
Cars and a private jet
Ross says he owns close to 200 vehicles, including a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air and a customised 1971 Chevrolet Impala, and hosts an annual car show at the Promise Land. In April 2023 he bought a 2012 Gulfstream G550 through a company called Maybach Air LLC. The price was not disclosed, but similar jets are estimated at around $19.5 million.
Cars are fun to count but tricky to value. Classic and custom cars can hold or grow their value, while modern luxury cars mostly lose it. We treat the collection as a meaningful asset, but not as the core of his net worth.
Who is Rick Ross?
William Leonard Roberts II was born on 28 January 1976 in Clarksdale, Mississippi, and grew up in the Miami area. Before music took off, he worked as a correctional officer in Florida from 1995 to 1997, a fact that critics brought up often in his early career. His stage name led to a lawsuit from former drug trafficker “Freeway” Ricky Ross in 2010, but a California appeals court ruled in the rapper’s favour in December 2013.
In 2011 he had two seizures on flights in a single day and was taken to hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. Doctors found no serious problem, and Ross said they might have been a result of a lack of sleep. He later made fitness a big part of his public image.

The bottom line
Rick Ross has been far smarter with money than his “Boss” persona lets on. A label, a franchise business he built up and then largely sold, long-term drinks partnerships and a serious property portfolio add up to a fortune most likely between $80 million and $150 million. The $45 million figures you still see online simply have not caught up with what he has been buying.
